What To Know About Minivans

When it comes time to purchase a new or used car, one of the first decisions you need to make is what kind of car is going to be best for your needs. Do you want to start looking for a sedan, truck, minivan, or sport car? Perhaps you've been driving an old sedan, but you've had several kids since you purchased the vehicle and you could use a little more space. A minivan might be the most affordable and fuel efficient way to transport the family.
Like most styles of vehicles, minivans come in three different sizes: compact, mid-size, and large. However, most large minivans are less maneuverable and are built for large capacities, such as seven to fifteen passengers. Among compact and mid-size minivans, the standard engine size is six cylinders. Some of the larger models may be eight. Although SUVs are often considered more stylish for large capacity transportation, minivans are often the more financially sound choice. Minivans typically get better gas mileage, they cost less initially, and they are much less expensive to insure and maintain. The interior cabin is also roomier. Another benefit of minivans is their safety ratings. Be sure to research your minivan choices to see what safety ratings are associated with each model. There may be additional safety features you can request such as side curtain airbags and stability control. Another feature that minivan buyers look for is ease of seat adjustment. Most owners want back seats that are easy to re-arrange and configure. Once you figure out your ideal features, you can start browsing local car dealerships with an informed list.
